Nightlatches - Why Disable The Snib Function

Sometimes at Lockkeys Locksmiths St Helens we get calls from relatives or care staff who look after someone with a dementia type illness. They can be locked out if the snib function is used on a nightlatch style lock as it deadlocks the lock and even if a key is used on the outside they cannot open the door.

To help prevent this in the future our Locksmith in St Helens Derek is asked if he could disable the snib function to prevent relatives/carers from being locked out in the future.

The video link above provides an explanation how we do this.
